On October 27, 2026, a subset of customer environments hosted in our Europe data center experienced a service disruption.
The disruption was caused by an infrastructure incident within Microsoft Azure's West Europe region. Microsoft has identified the incident under Tracking ID 2ZNH-G10. According to Microsoft's Preliminary Post Incident Review, a power event affected infrastructure within a datacenter facility supporting Availability Zone 1 in West Europe. Multiple backup generators did not start as expected, and issues were also identified with parts of the facility's UPS infrastructure.
The Azure incident affected multiple services, including Azure SQL Database. Microsoft reported connectivity and management-operation failures for Azure SQL Database as a result of the underlying infrastructure disruption.
Within our platform, only customer environments dependent on affected Azure infrastructure experienced downtime. Other environments continued to operate normally.
Service was restored following the recovery of the affected Azure infrastructure. Microsoft subsequently confirmed recovery of Azure SQL Database as part of the broader infrastructure recovery.
Microsoft is continuing its investigation and has stated that a Final Post Incident Review will be published after its investigation is complete.
